Buyer/Planner

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer/Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing procurement processes, ensuring the timely sourcing of materials, and assist Estimator with Customer Proposals. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in supply chain management and production planning, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize sourcing and purchasing processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure favorable terms that align with company objectives.
• Conduct root cause analysis to address supply chain issues and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee quality management processes to ensure that all materials meet required specifications.
• Coordinate with production teams to align purchasing activities with manufacturing schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier performance, and inventory status.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
• Facilitate communication between internal departments to ensure alignment on procurement needs.

Requirements

• Previous Machine shop environment a plus but not required
• Proven experience in procurement management or supply chain roles. .
• Familiarity with production planning processes and quality management systems.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
• Proficient in root cause analysis techniques to resolve supply chain challenges effectively.
• Ability to fabricate solutions that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
