CNC Operator Level 3

JOB TITLE: CNC Operator Level 3

DEPARTMENT: Production

POSITION TYPE: Hourly

COMPENSATION: Based on Experience

JOB SUMMARY: Operation of CNC machinery with the ability to (1) set-up machines, (2) program, and (3) train employees to be a level 1 or 2.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Read and interpret blueprints and related technical data.
• Able to train, assist, and support level 1 and 2 CNC operators to produce quality parts.
• Perform simple to complex set ups and operation of CNC machines.
• Understand, calculate, and set controls to regulate machining functions.
• Can program CNC machines with complete knowledge of G and M codes.
• Verifies conformance of finished work pieces to specification, using precision measuring instruments.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

BASIC SKILLS:

• Able to perform basic math (addition and subtraction).
• Able to problem solve and/or trouble shoot situational challenges.
• Able to interpret oral and documented instruction.
• Reasonable communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with SAP, Microsoft excel, Solid Works, and Outlook email encouraged but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to lift 75 pounds.
• Able to stand and walk for 2–3-hour intervals.
• Able to work in an environment with a moderate to loud noise level.
• Periodic exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 3 Years of machine related experience
• Complete knowledge of G and M codes.
• Training in general safety.
• Forklift Operator Certification preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
