Overview
Perform a variety of clerical, customer service, and administrative duties to support operations of a distribution center. R esponsible for responsible for maintaining and verifying the records and documentation of outbound shipments and product to and from the warehouse. The Distribution Clerk must ensure accuracy and efficiency of all distribution activities within SAP. This position requires strong organizational, communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Daily interactions with Customer Service Department and Sales team to plan, organize, and review customer orders / shipment schedules.
- Ensure the customer is receiving the correct product and quantity per order.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies.
- Interact with other department Manager / Lead to help coordinate product available to ship.
- Plans freight carrier needs using shipping points, weights, and dimensions as necessary. Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.
- Provide tracking information as requested or required.
- Answer / route all telephone calls in a polite manner, taking messages and routing to proper individual in a timely manner.
- Enter data pertaining to domestic and international shipments into the shipping systems of commercial freight carriers.
- Create deliveries for packing and shipping personnel early enough to ensure product is pulled and turned in to the Shipping Office in a timely manner.
- Prepare accurate bills of lading for outbound freight while ensuring that the packing slips and invoices are accurate and without errors.
- Ensure that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
- Scan Shipping documents into specific folders in our computer system.
- Gather, enter into SAP system and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
