Reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager; the Automation Controls Engineer will be responsible for the planning, designing, HMI PLC and robot programming, testing, start up, and commissioning of automated systems throughout several manufacturing industries from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Operate in a team environment to help meet or exceed customer expectations
- Participate in project reviews completing all necessary project management documents to help ensure projects complete on time and on budget consistent with customers' expectations
- Research and stay current with best available technologies related to automation
- Design and create electrical machine schematics and panel layouts for automated systems with the integration of robotics
- Specify electrical components for procurement and / or direct modification of products working with vendors to ensure conformance with engineering design and safety
- Programming of HMI's, PLC's, motion controls, and vision systems
Plan and develop offline robot programs using 3D simulation software
