What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Superintendent position at Metalex LLC?
The Production Superintendent must possess the desire and ability to provide leadership and supervisory coordination in all aspects of production. The Production Superintendent’s role is for continuous plant improvement, employee development, and maintaining a cost-effective operation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with Director of Operations to learn every and all aspects of the position.
- Oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring efficient and safe production while meeting quality standards and company goals.
- Develop and implement a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Quality to ensure customer demand and expectations are met; launch new products successfully.
- Identify areas for improvement in production processes, implement changes to enhance efficiency, safety and quality.
- Supervise and manage production staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback.
- Track and report on plant key performance indicators (KPIs); analyze and develop plans to address issues.
- Resolve operational issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field/experience.
- Five (5) years of experience supervision in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Steel fabrication experience a plus.
- Previous LEAN/CI experience preferred
- Strong emphasis on Safety compliance and training.
- Ability to work with groups of people with varying levels of education, expertise, and backgrounds.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
- Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency.
