What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Metalico?
Reports to: Operations Manager
Job Overview:
- Load and unload scrap metal materials.
- Cleaning and preparing job site in a tidy and safe manner.
- Using a variety of tools and machines: blowtorches, bobcat loader, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.
- Experience operating a loader is a plus.
- Sort and process scrap metal according to grade and size.
Skillset:
- Quick learner who can follow directions.
- Good communication skills.
- Clearly and respectfully communicate with supervisors and co-workers, team players.
- Timeliness, organizational skills, and multi-tasker.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work assigned schedule.
- Must be able to perform a variety of tasks in all kinds of weather/seasons.
- Physical job- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
- Will be required to wear proper PPE (steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses).
- Metals' knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous is a plus.

- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
