JOB TITLE : Loader Operator / Auto Dismantler
REPORTS TO : Operations Manager
JOB TYPE : Full-time, non-exempt
LOCATION : Skyway Auto Parts, 637 Tifft Street Buffalo NY, 14220
HOURS : 40 Hour Work Week
COMPENSATION : $17-20 / hr., based on skills and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Clean and prepare jobsite and yard in a tidy and safe manner
- Remove fluids such as gas or oil from vehicles
- Remove tires from vehicles
- Use a variety of tools and machines; blowtorches, forklifts, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment
- Use loaders to rotate vehicle inventory throughout the yard
- Parking newest vehicles and removing oldest vehicles to be crushed and shipped
- Safe handling and / or moving of vehicles
- Effective communication with all site personnel
- Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
- Daily maintenance of equipment
- Identify, report, correct, and / or prevent hazards
- Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety, and environmental rules and ensure work is completed in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
- Work outside in the elements regardless of the season
- Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and typical sounds
