CAD / CAM Operator
Metals USA has an immediate opening for a CAD / CAM Operator in the Tulsa, OK location. The CAD / CAM Operator must be familiar with CNC equipment using Auto-CAD; to create drawings and CNC programs using the CAD / CAM software for coordinating all production and technical communications between customers, sales and manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develops, designs and details mechanical components, process plans using Auto-CAD.
- Acts as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing and sales departments.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods, test finished-product and system capabilities, confirming fabrication, assembly and installation processes.
- Nests parts as required on sheets or blanks to maximize material and production efficiency.
- Provides design assistance for products and produce engineer drawings.
- Provides print generation capability from customer CAD files.
- Maintains system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data.
- Works closely with CNC operators to determine proper tooling, speed feed ratios for optimal performance output.
- Monitors, documents and controls any changes made to CNC programs
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
- Notifies management of product discrepancies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Prioritizes tasks based on given timelines and willing to work to meet required project deadlines.
- Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of a CAD / CAM Programmer.
- Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
- Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
