What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator position at Metalstamp Inc.?
Position Summary:
Individual will be responsible for safely, and efficiently operating/setting-up dies to produce parts to rate while meeting dimensional specs.
Would prefer individual to have experience with Bruderer’s, Minster’s, and Aida’s, Ranging from 45-330 tons.
Must have experience or the ability to learn the following:
1. Set-up dies on presses following our job instructions.
2. Operate press safely and effectively to meet standard rates, coil changes and minor adjustments per product requirement.
3. Identifies and troubleshoots complex quality product.
4. Adhere to defined quality procedures to ensure quality parts.
5. Read and analyze blueprints/job Routers for successful set-up’s, and production runs.
6. Visually inspect product and ensure parts meet dimensional print specs before departing production floor.
7. Accurately report labor data
8. Perform basic material handling duties with the use of a forklift, pallet jack, or die truck to move material, die’s, and stage parts.
9. familiar with measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and optical comparator.
9. Prepare and maintain accurate records.
10. Clean equipment and keep work area neat and orderly.
Qualifications
Required Skill, Education and Experience
Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools and machinery
Basic reading/writing/math skills
Ability to lift/pull up to fifty (50) pounds
Knowledge of use of measuring devices, blueprints and drawings preferred
Knowledge of punch presses preferred
Prior experience with IATF processes is preferred.
