Description:
Assist both Level I and II radiographers in day to day responsibilities on castings to ensure that they meet internal and external customer quality requirements as well as perform MT inspector duties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily set ups of castings for radiography with appropriate identification, location, and penetrameters.
- Organize the X-ray areas in front of the large and small cells.
- Daily load and unload castings in and out of shooting cell using overhead crane and casting carts.
- Perform MT Inspections.
- Perform Grinding duties when not needed in the x-ray department.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead person.
Start to Learn
- Perform radiography on castings as indicated by customer specification or internal requirements.
- Interpret radiographs and either accept or reject castings based on customers’ specifications.
- Daily mark up castings showing type and location of defects identified on film.
- Weekly develop radiographic techniques to meet quality specifications of new work or modifications on existing work.
- Daily proess and develop radiographic film.
Basic Math; Basic Reading (customer specification drawings, work instructions); Basic Writing (data input, record keeping). Industrial radiography experience or training.
