Summary : The Turret Specialist is responsible for operating and defining processes and standards for turret operation, as well as tool inventory, handling and reordering while maintaining best practices for programming.
Shift : 5 : 30AM-4PM Monday-Thursday with mandatory OT when applicable.
Essential Duties : Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Set up and operate a turret punch / laser combo machine to punch, cut, and shape metal sheets.
- Follow schedules provided by the Work Activity Coordinator and provide updates as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, and punch patterns, as well as configure laser settings for optimal cutting performance.
- Load and unload materials onto the machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, including changing tools, cleaning the machine, and checking laser components.
- Troubleshoot issues related to both the punch and laser systems and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all safety protocols, especially regarding laser operation.
- Work collaboratively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to optimize production processes.
