Production Employee

The Production Employee will efficiently feed material into specified choppers and shredders, extract metals from the wire materials, and assemble the correct packaging while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Recognize and organize different grades of materials appropriately
• Feed material into the chopper or shredder
• Take inventory, maintain and organize material storage area and ensure area is always secure
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently, as required
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, as required
• Follow dress code and ensure proper PPE is worn at all times

Job Requirements/Skills

• Knowledge of Non-Ferrous and Ferrous metals
• Ability to sort materials by hand or using hand tools
• Ability to shovel materials
• Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervision

Education/Experience

• Material handling and sorting
• Forklift experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Standing for long periods of time
• Able to lift 50 lbs. continuously
• Able to shovel heavy materials
• Tolerate a dusty environment
• Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
