Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Systems Engineer to join our Monitoring & Observability team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with monitoring technologies, particularly Dynatrace, and a deep understanding of observability best practices for enterprise-level environments. This role will support the design, implementation, and optimization of monitoring solutions for on-prem and AWS cloud-based infrastructures, ensuring system reliability, performance, and availability.
Candidates need to have:
- Working knowledge of monitoring Network infrastructure
- Experience working with SNMP data collection.
- Experience analyzing Network Flow data Able to analyze Network traffic.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering monitoring solutions within a large enterprise, specifically supporting Event Management processes.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace architecture, deployment, and best practices.
- Proven expertise in deploying and troubleshooting Dynatrace OneAgent and ActiveGates.
- Strong experience with Dynatrace SaaS environments.
- Experience analyzing application telemetry and resolving performance-related issues.
- Working experience with AWS CloudWatch and cloud-based monitoring tools.
- Scripting knowledge for Unix/Windows environments to support monitoring automation.
Preferred Qualifications (Competitive Edge):
- Experience integrating Dynatrace and CloudWatch with ITSM/CMDB/Event Management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Familiarity with observability tools beyond Dynatrace, such as New Relic, AppDynamics, Datadog, ELK, or Prometheus/Grafana.
- Background in DevOps or SRE roles focusing on observability and performance engineering.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation in monitoring contexts.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Configure, deploy, and manage Dynatrace OneAgent and ActiveGates in a Dynatrace SaaS environment to support full-stack observability.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions across infrastructure, applications, and cloud services (AWS).
- Analyze performance telemetry and application data collected by Dynatrace to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application performance issues.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, alerts, and automated responses for system health and performance visibility.
- Lead the migration and enhancement of monitoring solutions, including agent deployments, alerting, reporting, and integrations with Event Management and ITSM platforms.
- Utilize AWS CloudWatch for cloud resource monitoring and integrate it into overall observability strategies.
- Review and improve existing monitoring and observability processes to align with industry best practices and business objectives.
- Maintain and update custom monitoring scripts for Unix and Windows environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement observability capabilities that support business and technical requirements.
- Analyze telemetry data including events, alerts, incidents, and logs to identify trends, produce actionable insights, and recommend improvements.
