We are seeking an Estate Ambassador to greet winery guests at our OVID Napa Valley Property, lead tours and hosts tastings, share specific information about our site, wine and story. The goal is to support OVID’s Hospitality and Sales program, create authentic relationships and memorable, high touch experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hospitality
- Conduct tour and tasting experiences that are thoughtful, engaging, delightful and profitable.
- Convey an atmosphere of elegant accommodation while managing the group of guests. i.e.: graciously keeping the experience on schedule, responsible wine consumption and welcoming late-comers.
- Stock wine for tasting and organizing the respective hosts of each day’s Tour and Tasting appointments.
- Set up/break down for tastings.
- Assist with all hospitality activities including tastings, special events and off-site pourings.
- Respond to email and phone inquiries regarding tour and tasting appointments employing specific OVID verbiage and templates with consistent professional and courteous communication.
- Continue client engagement between in person visits via phone and email to create meaningful and lasting relationships.
- Communicate any problems or issues that occur during Tour and Tasting experiences to the Hospitality Manager.
Additional Duties
- Open the winery and lock up the entire facility location.
- Assist with order entry, fulfillment and inventory.
- Skillfully maintain accurate database and customer notes.
- Focused outreach to OVID mailing list, concierges, and industry network as assigned.
- Engagement in team and facility meetings including sharing of customer highlights, colleague recognition, progress on tasks/projects, and opportunities for improvement.
- Other responsibilities as assigned, including administrative support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-3 years successful experience in a similar role or like customer service/hospitality position.
- Experience with highly allocated wine or luxury brands is preferred.
- Excellent guest service skills and gracious dealings with affluent customer base.
- Demonstrate initiative in analyzing and solving issues in an elegant, timely and effective manner.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Superb and relatable presentation skills.
- Energetic, hardworking and committed individual who works well within, and compliments, a small staff of coworkers.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeaner, according to company policy.
- Computer literacy required. Intermediate Experience with MS Office Suite. Experience with online database and proprietary software preferred.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Required to work on weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Fast paced, busy, noisy and distractive open office/kitchen/dining atmosphere.
- Work is occasionally performed in a winery/cellar. The individual is occasionally exposed to cellar temperatures that are cool and fumes or airborne particles relative to normal cellar processes.
- Work is occasionally performed outdoors.
