Job Title: Travel CT Technologist
Metasense Inc. is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a temporary position in Novi, Michigan.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the successful candidate will specialize in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. This may include performing general diagnostic radiology examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
- Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations. Obtain additional information about patient medical history as necessary.
- Prepare procedure rooms and regularly replenish stock such as linen and related supplies.
- Analyze anatomical structures of patients, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
- Administer intravenous contrast media, including utilization of power injectors. Monitor patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provide immediate care if a reaction occurs.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures. Ensure adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
- Assist radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Perform all imaging procedures by demonstrating principles of radiation protection, including shielding patients, selecting appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose, and using other ALARA techniques.
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, including viewing images into PACS and confirming image/series counts.
- Complete study indexing, including study begin, study end, and completion of studies in the Radiology Information System.
- Review and confirm clinical protocols with radiologists before performing studies.
- Demonstrate team member standards of excellence, including AIDET, open communication, responding in a timely manner, displaying a positive attitude, fostering innovation, respecting diversity, etc.
- Perform documentation in medical records as necessary, as well as within the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
The successful candidate may work in a hospital setting with a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit at one of the Medical Centers. They may be exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized, high-voltage equipment, and potentially contagious patients. Occasionally, they may lift and/or move equipment and/or patients exceeding 10 pounds.
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible.
- BLS-AHA certification.
