Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Dialysis to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and ostomy care, along with experience in both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers. As a Registered Nurse in our dialysis unit, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Assess and monitor patients undergoing dialysis treatment, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
- Administer medications and perform necessary medical interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, home care options, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide support for patients with complex medical histories, including those requiring ostomy care or family planning guidance.
- Stay updated on advancements in dialysis technology and best practices to enhance patient care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a dialysis setting preferred; familiarity with medical-surgical nursing is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology relevant to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively within systems that support patient treatment plans.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Previous experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers is advantageous.
