Overview
The Payroll Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and overseeing the payroll process for our organization. Duties
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, deductions, and benefits administration.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Prepare and analyze payroll reports to identify discrepancies or issues that require resolution.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure proper handling of employee benefits and compensation changes.
- Perform journal entries related to payroll transactions, ensuring proper debits and credits are recorded in the accounting system.
- Assist with accounts payable functions as needed to support financial operations.
- Stay updated on governmental accounting regulations to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Utilize payroll software such as Paychex, PeopleSoft, or ADP for efficient processing and reporting.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and human resources practices.
- Proficient in analyzing data and generating reports to support decision-making processes.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards is a plus.
- Experience with benefits administration and understanding of various employee benefit programs.
