Senior Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Services Engineer
12 Month Contract
Atlanta, GA (2 days onsite per week)
The Senior Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Services Engineer is responsible for managing Microsoft s on-premises and cloud identity platforms, including Active Directory (AD), Azure Active Directory (AAD), and Microsoft 365 services. This role requires in-depth experience with multi-domain environments, migrations, security implementations, and the administration of both on-prem and cloud-based technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead inter-forest user migrations, account management, and provisioning in Active Directory environments.
- Administer and configure Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, including app registrations, conditional access policies, and single sign-on integrations.
- Perform tenant-level administration and manage Microsoft 365 platforms, including Exchange Online and Exchange 2019 (on-premises).
- Implement, test, and manage Active Directory Group Policies and Intune policies for securing domain controllers, member servers, and workstations.
- Ensure day-to-day availability and security of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, etc.) and email security tools such as Defender for Exchange.
- Analyze and improve Active Directory environments, identifying operational challenges and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to meet platform and security requirements.
- Automate administrative tasks to improve efficiency in operations.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for troubleshooting and resolving critical issues in an enterprise environment.
Requirements
- 4-7 years of experience with Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD/Entra ID) in hybrid environments.
- Strong experience with Windows 2019/2022 server administration, DNS, domain trust relationships, and network security zones.
- Expertise in Active Directory migrations, Group Policy, Intune policy management, and domain controller administration.
- Proficient in managing Exchange 2019 and Exchange Online in hybrid environments.
- Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
- Knowledge of security risks related to Active Directory, Azure AD, GPOs, and DNS, with the ability to communicate and mitigate these risks effectively.
- Experience administering multiple Active Directory forests and forest trusts.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities with AD, AAD, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
