Mail Services Specialist

6 Month Contract

Carlsbad, CA (onsite)

Hours : Monday - Friday, 7 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM (no overtime likely)

The Mail Services Specialist will play a key role in receiving, organizing, and delivering mail and packages to ensure smooth daily operations.

This position involves maintaining an organized receiving area, inspecting deliveries, and stocking necessary supplies. Physical ability to handle packages up to 50 lbs is required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort packages from FedEx, Client, and small freight companies (typically less than 50 packages daily)
• Deliver mail, packages, copy products, and stationery to assigned locations per the daily schedule, ensuring same-day delivery where possible or notifying consignee for next-day delivery
• Stock mail and postage supplies; restock copy rooms and respond to copier needs, including clearing jams and determining if technical assistance is needed
• Audit deliveries, comparing items with invoices and approving or rejecting as necessary; check for contraband in delivered items
• Ensure packages are adequately protected against damage during shipment and delivery
• Process shipment requests with vendors, notifying the package owner of arrangements
• Apply correct postage and identification to outgoing packages
• Operate motor vehicles as needed for package deliveries

Requirements

• 1 years preferred in warehouse, shipping, or receiving roles
• High School diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills, organizational abilities, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and mobile applications
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with warehouse tasks
• California Driver s License required; a shipping / receiving license is preferred but not mandatory

Safety Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) training and adhere to all safety protocols
• Follow all company HSE policies and procedures, participate in HSE programs, and report any potential safety hazards or incidents
• Use appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times, handle materials safely, and operate warehouse equipment only if properly trained and authorized
