Elementary Teacher (K-4)

A Metcalf Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating and delivering engaging lesson plans across various subjects including math, science, reading, and social studies to students in grades K-4, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development by teaching fundamental skills, managing classroom behavior, communicating with parents about their child's progress, and providing individualized support when needed.

Key responsibilities:

• Lesson planning:
  Designing engaging and differentiated lesson plans aligned with state standards and student needs; Being a team player in collaborative team planning as a grade level
• Classroom instruction:
  Delivering lessons using a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles. 
• Assessment and grading:
  Evaluating student progress through regular assessments, quizzes, and projects, providing feedback to students; Understanding the standards-based approach
• Student management:
  Establishing and enforcing classroom rules, promoting positive behavior, and addressing student concerns. 
• Parent communication:
  Regularly communicating with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and upcoming events. 
• Individualized learning:
  Providing additional support to students who require extra help. 
• Collaboration:
  Working with other teachers, administrators, and specialists to support student learning and school goals
