PROJECT SCHEDULER
POSITION SUMMARY:
Metcon is a commercial general contractor that specializes in construction management, negotiated, design-build and select hard-bid projects. The Construction Scheduling Manager trains production staff, guides staff to manage deadlines while making sure projects maintain schedule compliance and finish on time. Ensure the hiring goals, objectives and initiatives are met in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Metcon.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understanding the project requirements
- Integration of logistics plan
- Analyze project risks on both a contractual and build platform
- Gathering data and creating timetables for projects activities
- Establishing the critical path milestones and meeting deadlines along the way
- Clearly communicate with the project teams while establishing accountability on all levels of the project.
- Build initial milestone construction schedule during Preconstruction.
- Generate (with project PM & Superintendent) a complete construction schedule, identifying all critical activities, durations, milestones and other driving factors.
- Update construction schedule throughout the entire project/s while guiding the project team to transmit to the subcontractors and suppliers.
- Establish a scheduling training platform to all production staff. This training will be treated and managed as “Continuous Improvement” strengthening the staff and project outcomes.
- Collect and analyze data and trends, share outcomes to develop lessons learned.
- Monitor progress on all projects
- Generate and issue a monthly project schedule report to Executive Staff for review providing project timelines, overall status, metrics and identifying inherent risks.
- Assist and guide project teams to meet all project milestones and deadlines

- Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
- Understand P6 Scheduling Software. And be prepared to become a “Superuser”.

- Proficiency in understanding plan reading and contracts

Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Asta Powerproject or Industry Leading scheduling software newest version.
- 25 years working with a commercial general contractor or cost and schedule management role.
- Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) of scheduling.
- Understands building processes and systems in the context of moderately complex construction projects.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and personnel both verbally and written.
- Experience with Asta Powerproject scheduling, MS Project, or other standard scheduling applications.
- Excellent in Microsoft Office products.
- Travel may be required, must possess a valid drivers license
