POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for day-to-day tasks that primarily focus on the planning and execution of test programs. Day to day activities is primarily defined by the Engineering Manager.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Actively seeks out opportunities to gather, process and retain knowledge of the following: testing specifications related to our services, material attributes including methods and equipment used to generate properties, and best laboratory practices by routinely being present and engaged with technicians on the testing equipment.
  • Possesses and effectively utilizes knowledge of the following: testing specifications related to our services, material attributes including methods and equipment used to generate properties, and best laboratory practices. 
  • Evaluate risk mitigation opportunities and develop contingency plans for events that can negatively impact services to clients. 
  • Compile data and test results into databases and formal reports while analyzing data for accuracy and continuity
  • Owns and drives process improvement tasks designed to broaden and elevate the value of our services.
  • Build and strengthen relationships both within as well as outside of the corporation as they relate to our services.  
  • Work with internal and external clients to establish mutual expectations regarding a program’s cost, technical scope, scheduled milestones, and communication plan.
  • Assists with audit preparation and provides guidance for auditing processes.

 Project Management Role:

 Responds to incoming proposals by researching and developing quotations.

  • Develops and provide internal communications supporting program goals.
  • Advocates on behalf of our clients. Gain insights that evolve our services to meet their growing needs.
  • Owns project financial matters by reviewing contracts, setting program budgets, processing all invoicing activities and produce periodic fiscal summaries and status updates. 
  • Oversees project closure process by ensuring all data has been formally reported and delivered, material has been shipped, and invoices processed. Completes post program review looking for improvement opportunities.

 Sales & Marketing Role:

 Requires a working knowledge of our capabilities and assists in client meetings.

  • Interacts with buyers and engineers on pre-sale activities.
  • Learns essentials for building and strengthening relationships with multiple buying influences in the customer’s organization including, materials and process engineers, program managers, and buyers.
  • Awareness of the role and impact of outside technical organizational events relative to the market serviced by the company

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 1-2 years’ experience 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and CAD Software.
  • Ability to relate to topics which require acute understanding or specialized knowledge.
  • Ability to pay meticulous attention to all aspects of a situation or task.
  • Maximum weightlifting requirement is 50lbs.
  • Standing to sitting ratio is 30/70, respectively.

  • Responsive – The job requires decisiveness, quick response, fast action. It will often be involved in critical situations demanding that on-the-spot decisions be made with good judgment. The job will repeatedly face important deadlines that must be met on time.
  • Time Management – possesses critical organization skills and able to prioritize and determine when additional resources are required to meet objectives or established deadlines.  Uses one’s time efficiently to maximize the effectiveness of an individual’s efforts.
  • Versatility – The job calls for a high level of optimism and a “can do” orientation. It will require multiple talents and a willingness to adapt them to changing assignments as required.
