Reports To: Supervisors, Site Manager, VP of Operations
Role Overview
As a Tour Guide, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering a captivating, professional, and educational experience to our guests. You will lead groups along the rim trail, offering insights into the history, geology, and significance of Meteor Crater, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors. Your energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm will be key to making each tour an unforgettable experience for visitors from all over the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Guided Tours: Safely guide visitors along the rim trail, ensuring safety regulations are followed while providing insightful commentary about the crater’s geological history and significance.
- Engage and Educate: Deliver informative and engaging presentations to small and large groups, answering questions and sparking curiosity about the surrounding area and the impact of Meteor Crater on science and history.
- Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Greet and assist guests, inform them of tour schedules and locations, and ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for all visitors.
- Prioritize Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including emergency procedures, and communicate effectively with team members to maintain operational efficiency.
- Maintain the Grounds: Ensure the cleanliness and safety of public areas, including daily checks of trails and observation areas to ensure they are free from debris and hazards.
- Assist with First Aid: Carry a first-aid kit and be prepared to respond to minor injuries or help with fatigue during the tour.
Work Environment
This role requires flexibility and the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, often in varying weather conditions (sun, rain, wind, heat). You will be standing, walking, and occasionally lifting objects, while ensuring the safety and comfort of our visitors.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s Degree preferred)
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, as well as a background check
- Reliable transportation
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to engage groups of various sizes
- A passion for educating others and sharing the wonders of science and history
- Comfortable working outdoors, walking on uneven terrain, and withstanding variable weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Knowledge of northern Arizona attractions is helpful, including providing directions as needed
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and clear communication
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, stooping, or kneeling
- Ability to manage a physically demanding workload

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
