METER Group, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to work with one of our multi-disciplinary development teams. Ideal candidates will be studying electrical engineering at a university within 50 miles of Pullman, WA. This internship is available for those able to work May through August of 2025.
The EE Intern will work together with more senior engineers on a number of projects. Ideally, we are looking for someone who is available to work full time hours during the summer. Part-time work may be available during the school year (at least ten hours per week).
Our development teams design products used in research agricultural and environmental sensing applications across the globe. This role works at our Pullman, WA office.
We anticipate filling this position in the salary range of $18 - $23 per hour. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience; the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our offer will be based on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Design printed circuit boards, including electronic component selection, schematic capture, simulation (if applicable), and layout.
- Prepare documentation for design, testing, and manufacturing.
- Qualify and characterize components and assembled products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Design and conduct experiments.
- Other engineering duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Junior or Senior level in a university EE degree program located within 50 miles of Pullman, WA.
- Must be willing to work on-site.
- Ability to use standard EE test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
- Ability to interpret PCB layouts and schematics.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Background check results satisfactory to METER.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium, Eagle, or KiCad.
- Experience with embedded systems (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, dev boards, etc).
- Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Willingness to remain on the Palouse for a career after college.
