Position Summary
Metergy is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide technical support to clients across the US. This entry-level position includes comprehensive training to ensure success. The role requires flexibility, including the ability to travel out of state and respond to service requests during non-standard work hours.
\n- Commission new installations of meters and metering systems.
- Coordinate with the data center to verify remote reading capabilities of systems.
- Diagnose installation errors and meter defects quickly and accurately.
- Determine appropriate actions for improperly installed, damaged, or defective meters.
- Provide detailed service reports in the reporting system.
- Respond to emergency disconnect/reconnect requests and other service needs outside regular work hours.
- From time to time, this position may require overtime hours including being on-call on weekends.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when working with clients, contractors, maintenance staff, property managers, and tenants.
- Valid NY Driver's License and good standing with Zipcar.
- OSHA 30 and SST 10 certifications.
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional organization and customer service skills.
- Hands-on experience testing and repairing electrical devices or installations.
- Ability to use a voltmeter and basic hand tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Technical associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical work, electronics repair, or a similar field.
- Leadership or project management experience.
- Familiarity with software diagnostics and serial communication terminals.
