Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking a skilled Preoperative Nurse to join our team at Methodist Surgery Center Landmark, an ambulatory surgery center affiliated with Methodist Healthcare System. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patient care areas adequately before cases
- Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for procedures
- Conduct comprehensive physical and psychological assessments and evaluations of patient histories and diagnostic tests
- Review patient charts for completeness prior to surgery
- Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
- Monitor patients until transferred to the OR
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
- 1 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery
- Active RN license as required by state of employment
- BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable)
- ACLS required within 30-days of hire
- PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
