Job Summary and Qualifications
The Journeyman HVAC Technician is a skilled worker who is experienced at working with HVAC systems in acute care facilities or commercial and industrial settings. Journeyman HVAC Technician responsibilities include the performance of preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting hot / cold calls and ensuring proper and efficient equipment operation. The Journeyman HVAC Technician shall provide recommendations regarding the building(s) mechanical systems including remaining life expectancy, potential replacement and repair costs as well as business interruption risks. They will be expected to reliably maintain all equipment per HCA Healthcare Engineering standards to ensure the highest level of efficiency and to minimize impact to revenue. In the event of HVAC Capital Reinvestment projects, the Journeyman HVAC Technician shall perform quality control throughout the project and be available to assist with final commissioning of the equipment. Must be well organized, keep accurate service and maintenance records using HCA Healthcare's computerized maintenance management system and communicate. Training and mentoring of apprentices and fellow colleagues is expected. All technicians should be willing to assist facility management operations in other non-HVAC maintenance activities as assigned.
