Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technician to join our team at Methodist Hospital Atascosa. This role involves administering radiopharmaceuticals to detect or treat diseases under the direction of a physician.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear medicine procedures and be able to produce high-quality images for interpretation by a physician.
In addition to technical skills, we require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to detect or treat diseases under direction of a physician.
- Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to produce images.
- Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed following physicians' prescription.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine training program or Graduate of Radiology Technologist Program and one-year experience as a nuclear medicine technologist.
- Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from Texas Medical Board.
- Must have ONE of the following within six months of hire date: i. ARRT (N) or ii. NMTCB.
- Eligible to test and be ARRT(CT) within 1 year of hire or notified.
- Basic Life support.
