Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technician to join our team at Methodist Hospital Atascosa. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to detect or treat diseases under the direction of a physician
- Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies using a camera to produce images
- Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed following physicians' prescription
- Produce and record in PACS images for interpretation by a physician
- Assay radiopharmaceuticals adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients
- Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide them with assistance during test procedures
Requirements
- Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from Texas Medical Board
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification within six months of hire date
- Basic Life Support certification
- Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine training program or Graduate of Radiology Technologist Program and one-year experience as a nuclear medicine technologist
