Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Cath Lab Invasive Specialist plays a crucial role within the Cath Lab team during catheterization procedures. This role requires technical proficiency with cardiac procedures and equipment, as well as a strong understanding of anatomical and physiological principles to effectively assist cardiologists or electrophysiologists in providing exceptional cardiac care.

Essential Job Functions :

Exhibit technical expertise in all cardiac catheterization procedures as the Cardiac Cath Lab Invasive Specialist.

Identify cardiac structures and disease processes accurately and consistently.

Follow radiation safety protocols, adhering to regulations set forth by the Texas Bureau of Radiation Control.

Assist the physician with data entry into monitoring systems for precise hemodynamic assessments.

Accurately assess cardiac function and report Ejection Fraction using relevant programs.

Ensure proper archiving of angiographic and procedural data for long-term storage.

Additional Job Functions :

Access and administer contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as needed.

Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Support the mission of Methodist Healthcare System, committed to achieving organizational goals.

Maintain compliance with safety policies and procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions promptly.

Adhere to the Code of Conduct and ethical standards.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

1. Education & Experience :

High School diploma or GED.

One of the following : 1) One year of full-time experience in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology; 2) An Associate Degree in a relevant field; 3) Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program; or 4) Graduation from a non-accredited program with at least one year of specialty training and 800 clinical hours.

2. Licenses and Certifications Required :

Must hold one of the following credentials : ARRT or appropriate catheterization certifications (RCIS / RCES).

Other certifications include Certified Surgical Tech or Registered Respiratory Therapist, or EMT-B / EMT-P with military equivalents.

Preferred Qualifications :

Two years of experience in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and six months of experience in the specialty.
