Job Summary and Qualifications

Essential Job Functions :

Demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to patients across various age groups.

Display competency in general diagnostic radiography, digital equipment, and PACS system utilization.

Oversee the use of RIS and Meditech for scheduling exams and patient tracking.

Adhere to infection control procedures consistently.

Respond promptly to urgent exam requests.

Ensure image quality by monitoring for artifacts and cleaning equipment when necessary.

Assess situations effectively and determine appropriate actions.

Gather patient history and assist radiologists in procedures, ensuring patient comfort.

Report any equipment issues to a supervisor promptly.

Exhibit ability to navigate radiologic equipment and reboot systems as required.

Additional Job Functions :

Manage radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents in accordance with procedural needs.

Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Support all target goals of the Methodist Healthcare System.

Comply with system-wide safety regulations and report hazardous conditions immediately.

Uphold the MHS Code of Conduct in all professional interactions.

Carry out additional duties as tasked.

Minimum Requirements :

Educational Requirement : Certificate or Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology.

Experience : No prior experience necessary, but hospital setting familiarity is preferred.

Required Certifications :

Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from Texas Medical Board.

ARRT Certification obtained within 6 months of hire.

Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is due within the first 30 days of employment.
