This position performs EKGs, treadmill tests, holter monitor scanning, patient education related to event monitors, syncope/tilt table studies and cardiopulmonary stress testing. A Brief Overview
This position performs EKGs, treadmill tests, holter monitor scanning, patient education related to event monitors, syncope/tilt table studies and cardiopulmonary stress testing. Performs advanced/complex rhythm recognition. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Performs and reports results on routine and specialized electrocardiograph examinations as directed.
- Syncope/Exercise Testing/Cardiopulmonary Stress Testing.
- Holter/Pacemaker/Event Recorder Duties and Responsibilities.
- General Cardiovascular Duties.
- Administrative Duties. Demonstrated competency in then specialty areas through successful completion of Beginner and Intermediate EKG classes.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations commensurate with education.
- Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex written material, such as technical manuals commensurate with education.
- Ability to organize and complete tasks.
- Ability to communicate verbally with others, including patients and co-workers.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent

- 1-3 years EKG
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
- Certified Cardiographic Technician - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Certified ECG Technician National Center for Competency Testing
- HEART SAVER - American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - American Heart Association
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Supervision Provided by this Position

Physical Demands
- Exposure to patient body fluids.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Ability to read and write to communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
- Normal vision, including color and peripheral vision.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., as well as push up to 150 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, kneel, reach, bend, and twist throughout shift.
- Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions.
- Ability to use hands for gripping and squeezing as well as perform repetitive hand and wrist motion.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
