Responsible for the leadership and direction of the transport services staff and accountable for planning, budgetary planning, and day to day operation. Functions as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team that manages the care of critically ill patients that are direct admits and from referring institutions to the receiving facility. A Brief Overview

What you will do
- Manages the staff and day to day operations of assigned program/area(s). Responsible for educating, orientation, in-services, and training staff members.
- Plans and schedules work, ensuring distribution of assignments and adequate staffing for assigned area.
- Evaluates job performance, ensures competency of staff, and recommends various personnel actions including hiring, promotions, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Documents and maintains records of clinical skills, required competencies, and education for the staff.
- Provides short and long term planning of assigned area, ensuring success in caring for patient population.
- Develops and monitors budget for assigned program/area(s). Assists in the development and implementation of plans to control costs and to ensure financial success.
- Interprets, administers, and executes policies and procedures for the program/area(s), ensuring policy compliance and regulatory agency requirements.
- Oversees the daily logistics, ensuring 24/7 coverage and oversight. Accountable for call after-hours.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Emergency Management
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy
- Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Administration
Experience Qualifications
- 3-5 years Clinical healthcare
- Management
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of critical care transport concepts, methods and techniques as well as aero-medical physiology.
- Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials such as technical documentation and patient records.
- Ability to facilitate strong teamwork and lead educational sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate across diverse constituents including medical staff, management, associate, and externally.
- Strong ability to Exercise good judgment in routine and complex situations.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow.
- Ability to develop, understand and manage to a flex budget.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel).

Supervision Provided by this Position
- Manages associates assigned to Transfer Center and/or Pedi-Flite.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
