Depending upon the assigned "rotation," responsible for administrative and clinical projects, working with medical staff to optimize the drug therapy of inpatients or outpatients, reviewing and approving drug orders, compounding and dispensing medications, for providing drug information to physicians, nurses and patients, and/or development and implementation of drug use policy, in accordance with professional and Methodist Healthcare standards of practice. What You Will Do
- Participates in and provides direct care to patients in the inpatient and outpatient care setting, as described in the Pharmacy Resident Evaluation section of the MH Pharmacy Resident manual.
- Participates in and provides pharmaceutical care to patients in the acute clinical care setting, as described in the Pharmacy Resident Evaluation section of the MH Pharmacy Resident manual.
- Provides services relating to drug information and drug use policy, to health care providers and patients in the acute and ambulatory clinical care setting, as described in the Pharmacy Resident Evaluation section of the MH Pharmacy Resident manual.
- Participates in the planning, development, and quality assurance of departmental services, as described in the Pharmacy Resident Evaluation section (Clinical Services Management) of the Methodist Healthcare Pharmacy Resident manual.
- Provides distributional and clinical pharmacy services, as described in the Pharmacy Resident Evaluation section of the MH Pharmacy Resident manual.
- Develops and completes a project, as described in the Pharmacy Resident Evaluation section of the MH Pharmacy Resident manual.
- Develops and presents lectures and other educational presentations, as described in the Pharmacy Resident Evaluation section of the MH-MH Pharmacy Resident manual.

- Pharmacist Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Pharmacy Mississippi Board of Pharmacy
- Pharmacist Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Tennessee Board of Pharmacy
- Knowledge of pharmacy principles and procedures as obtained through requisite Education/Training.
- Ability to understand complex written materials (e.g. professional journals).
- Normal eye-motor coordination, manual dexterity and visual perception.
- Ability to communicate both orally and written with all levels of Associates, management, physicians, patients and their families.
- Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects to maintain control of own and others work flow.
- Skill in developing and implementing short-range and long-range plans and programs.
- Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations, e.g., cardioresuscitation codes, disaster drills.
- Guides the activities of Pharmacy technicians and students in the assigned work area.
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
