Responsible for data gathering and tracking of all blood inventory and usage as well as quality analysis tracking as mandated by regulatory agencies. Assists with utilization review and blood administration education and auditing. Observes and critique of blood transfusion processes on the nursing floor. Provides utilization reports and feedback to upper management. Utilizes feedback on observations of blood transfusions that will be created and provided to Clinical Directors and nursing educators for continuing education. A Brief Overview

What You Will Do
- Conducts audits and reports findings to the appropriate individuals in a timely fashion.
- Produces data/dashboards for Quality initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and compliance activities.
- Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.

- 5-7 years Transfusion medicine
- Medical Technologist - American Society of Clinical Pathologists
- Registered Nurse Arkansas - Arkansas State Board of Nursing
- Registered Nurse Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing
- Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Skill and proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts and techniques, which are central to the professional discipline in Nursing or Transfusion Medicine.
- Must have working knowledge of lab procedures.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel and Minitab).
- Ability to communicate complex technical material to physicians, other clinical Associates, and patients and their families both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own workflow by prioritizing projects.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist in quality control and education.
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
