What You Will Do
- Manages and monitors the daily work activities of assigned associates. Assists with hiring, evaluating performance, counseling, training, issuing corrective action, and recommending promotion or discharge of assigned Associates as indicated.
- Responsible for the inventory and ordering of supplies, equipment and services needed to support the efficient operation of the assigned nursing unit and patient care delivery. Monitors utilization of materials and supplies, orders supplies to ensure adequate inventory, and ensures adherence to budget.
- Consults with suppliers/vendors and serves as the liaison between hospital Associates and suppliers to insure quality and quantity of products/services are received as specified by the user.
- Ensures rental equipment needs are met and monitors usage, return of equipment and proper invoicing.
- Assists in the preparation of the capital budgets for assigned area(s), monitors and authorizes expenditures within budget limits. Assists in the development and implementation of capital budget and plans to control costs and improve department operations.
- Coordinates physical relocation activities including move planning, management and coordination of all logistics, and post-move follow-up. Negotiates and/or confers with others for the physical moves including deployment of furniture and equipment to the new space, purchase and/or liquidation of furnishings and equipment.
- Assists with timekeeping functions for multiple nursing units.
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associate's Degree
- 1-3 years Inventory
- Knowledge of general business operations.
- Knowledge of SAP or other relevant materials management software applications preferred.
- Basic knowledge of standard software programs for word processing and spreadsheets.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of own and other’s work flow.
- Skill and proficiency in verbal and written communications.
- This position may supervise designated associates.
- Invasive and non-invasive patient contact throughout shift.
- Possible exposure to patient body fluids.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate both orally and written to other individuals.
- Normal vision and hearing.
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. periodically throughout shift.
- Ability to reach, bend, and twist periodically throughout shift.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Use of hands for gripping and squeezing as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination.
