What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Health Center RN position at Methodist McKinney Hospital?
The Employee Health/Occupational Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for oversight and coordination of employee health and safety for employees, volunteers, and students in the workforce. Employee health services include fitness for duty determinations, providing require and maintain screenings, participating in safety, health and wellness program, arranging appropriate intervention of work-related injuries/illnesses, and preventing the spread of infections from/to employees, volunteers and patients. This position plays a key role in ensuring that pre-employment screening is complete, plans and coordinates annual health screening and immunization and compliance with all regulatory requirements related to employee health. Works closely with Quality/Infection Control and Safety, in addition to the hospital leadership, to promote a safe, healthy workplace for all employees.
- Maintains all employee health records per facility polices.
- Conducts initial testing and follow-up of employee health service, such statistics on tuberculosis exposure/screening, hepatitis screening.
- Plans and implements vaccine programs as directed.
- Works with Quality Manager to conduct education/training as needed regarding infection control.
- Collaborate with IP to provide necessary precautions for all employees. including reporting for NHSN, Covid and other communicable diseases, as neccessary.
- Tracks Workers Comp/Employee injuries.
- Coordinates follow up screening and drug testing per policy
- Conducts new employee orientation for the Employee Heath and BPPE check- off
Associate's degree considered
Bachelor's degree preferred
BLS is required within 30 days of hire
De-escalation course required within 90 days of hire.
