We have an immediate opening for a PRN Nurse Practitioner to support our Outpatient Clinic
SHIFT:

GENERAL DUTIES:
- To provide health care service for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients based on the professional practice standards for health care and the scope of practice for nurse practitioners
- To deliver professional care without continuous supervision making sound decisions under stress and pressure
- To order and interpret diagnostic and treatment modalities according to the established protocols governing family nurse practitioners
- To obtain comprehensive assessments of patient care needs by means of history and physical examination, social, and spiritual needs
- To document an initial assessment, admission history and physical, and comprehensive discharge summary reflecting the course of medical and rehabilitative care rendered, as well as the outcome of the care provided
FUNCTION WITHIN THE REHABILITATION PROGRAM:
- To evaluate and determine the nature and extent of impairment and disability arising as a result of the patient’s disease and/or injury
- To define specific functional goals to be achieved during the period of rehabilitation and the therapy disciplines needed during this period
- To work along with the different therapy teams involved in patient care in order to integrate medical and rehabilitative care
- To assist with discharge planning and the provision of support services that fall within the inherent scope of practice, both pre and post-discharge
- To participate in the evaluation and assist in the treatment of patients affected by spasticity. This will include screening patients for potential procedures, as well as co-managing patients receiving intrathecal baclofen therapy
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- MSN in nursing; certification as nurse practitioner in the designated area of practice (family nurse practitioner)
- Baclofen pump mamagement experience is required
