Description
The Department of Nursing at Methodist University invites applications for part-time Clinical Nursing Instructors for the fall 2024 semester. Applicants with experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply: Fundamentals, Adult Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing, and Medical/Surgical Nursing.
Responsibilities include teaching and supervising pre-licensure BSN nursing students in the clinical agency. Instructors will work under the direction of the Faculty Course Coordinator or the Chair of Nursing for the subject area. Additional responsibilities may include evaluation, scheduling, and advising of students, and participation in departmental activities associated with the instructional program.
Qualifications
A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and previous experience teaching clinical in a Registered Nursing or higher program is preferred. All candidates will hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) from an accredited institution of higher education and have two calendar years or the equivalent of full time clinical experience as a registered nurse.
Additionally, all candidates must hold a current unrestricted license or multistate licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina; have preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education or the ability and willingness to obtain preparation within the first three years of employment; maintain competence in the areas of assigned responsibility; and have current knowledge of nursing practice for the registered nurse.
