Summary:
The Department of Physician Assistant Studies invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure track position as Assistant/Associate Professor. Previous teaching experience in a Physician Assistant program is strongly recommended. Full-time faculty members are required to maintain practice skills and are given one day each week to engage in clinical practice. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with level of education as well as professional and academic experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide student instruction in the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
- Teach and assist in labs as needed
- Participate in the evaluation of student performance throughout the didactic and clinical phases of the program
- Assist with the remediation process of students in both the didactic and clinical phases of the program
- Participate in the selection of applicants for admission to the PA program
- Serve as a student academic advisor as assigned by the program director
- Actively participate in designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum
- Participate in the evaluation of the program
- Participate in state and national PA associations and attend PAEA and AAPA conferences as requested by the program director
- Participate in scholarly activities
- Maintain academic appointments and/or assignments comparable to other institutional faculty (i.e. committee appointments, university faculty meetings, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned by the program director

Methodist University Physician Assistant Program is an accredited, seven-semester graduate program with an enrollment of 40 students each year (aggregate enrollment 120). Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s degree, a minimum of three years of clinical practice as a physician assistant with eligibility for unrestricted licensure to practice in North Carolina, and current certification by the NCCPA.
