Job Summary:
Methodist University is now seeking to hire early to mid-career Foundational Science Faculty for its new School of Medicine in partnership with Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC. The Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine is an applicant program with the LCME with an anticipated start date of Summer 2026 for its charter class.
The Department of Foundational Science is seeking creative, forward-thinking, student-focused medical educators with expertise and experience in the following disciplines – Neuroscience, Physiology, Pathology, Immunology, Microbiology, Public Health/Community Health/Epidemiology - to join in the development and delivery of our new spirally integrated, clinical presentation curriculum. Our mission is to prepare our graduates to be socially accountable, community-engaged, evidence-based, compassionate, equity-focused physician leaders who will contribute to mitigating health disparities and improving health outcomes in southeastern NC or wherever they may practice.
Faculty will participate in large and small group facilitation and assessment. While medical education will be the priority for all faculty, educational scholarship and service are expected with time allocated for such efforts. Faculty will report to the Foundational Science Chair/Associate Dean for Foundational Sciences and the Associate Dean for Curriculum and Student Success.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of teaching experience in a medical school, including curriculum development, small group facilitation, case-based learning, and assessment design/delivery. A PhD, MD, or DO, or equivalent terminal degree is required.
