Head of Investor Relations | Hedge Fund

Our client is a leading hedge fund with over $2 billion in assets under management (AUM), focusing on a multi-strategy approach. Their team is dedicated to delivering superior risk-adjusted returns for their investors through a disciplined, research-driven approach. As they continue to grow and expand, they are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Investor Relations to join their leadership team and help strengthen their relationships with current and prospective investors.

Key Responsibilities:

Investor Communication & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for existing investors, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including institutional investors, family offices, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), and consultants.
• Communicate fund performance, strategy, and key developments clearly and effectively through regular investor updates, quarterly reports, and one-on-one meetings.
• Provide strategic guidance to the senior management team on investor feedback and concerns, ensuring alignment with investor expectations.

Fundraising & Business Development

• Lead and execute fundraising efforts to grow assets under management, identifying new investor opportunities and expanding the investor base.
• Collaborate with senior management and marketing teams to create targeted strategies for approaching prospective investors, including presentations and pitch materials.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends and competitor strategies to identify new investor segments and opportunities for fund growth.

Strategy & Reporting

• Prepare and deliver regular performance and strategy presentations to investors, ensuring the messaging aligns with the fund’s objectives and performance data.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive investor materials, including presentations, fact sheets, and annual reports.
• Work closely with the investment team to ensure a clear understanding of the fund’s strategy, performance, and outlook.

Market Intelligence & Industry Networking

• Stay informed on market trends, investor sentiment, and regulatory changes that may impact fundraising and investor relations strategies.
• Represent the fund at industry events, conferences, and meetings, fostering relationships with key players in the investment community.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor the IR team, ensuring effective collaboration and professional development.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless communication and coordination across functions.

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in investor relations, business development, or a related field within the hedge fund or asset management industry.
• Proven track record in managing institutional relationships, fundraising, and investor communications.
• Strong understanding of hedge fund investment strategies, performance metrics, and the broader financial markets.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex investment strategies in a clear and compelling way.
• Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize performance data and market insights.
• Established network in the investment community, including relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and consultants.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
