When implemented, the streamlined interfaces will simplify the integration environment, speed up project delivery, and lower project costs. In addition to system simplification MetLife is also embarking on new growth areas which require external facing API's. This position will be responsible for driving the technical solution across simplification projects, external API's and ensure the service integration team is at the forefront of integration best practices and technologies.
MetLife is seeking Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team in Cary, North Carolina. Our teams are building and enhancing software in support of MetLife's leading U.S. based Insurance business. The Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer is responsible for software development activities on one or more projects of moderate to high complexity. In this role you will be responsible for the successful completion of technical deliverables (including detailed technical design, code development), software development, unit testing process and ensuring quality standards are met by both onshore and offshore teams. The Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer participates in the technical design, development, and implementation of application systems, and may have customer interaction. In this position you will have the opportunity to put your experience and education to work in an energetic and highly collaborative environment where diverse thought and experiences are valued. You will serve as mentor for more junior team members helping them learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities :
- Primary point of contact for all technical decisions and deliverables on an integration project
- Ensure all tasks and milestones associated with technical design, development and unit testing are completed according to project management guidelines.
- Hands on development activities are aligned with scope, schedule, priority and business objectives
- Review functional specifications, create detailed technical design and technical specifications, and oversee code development and unit and performance testing activities
- Coordinate all operational / infrastructure readiness requirements (e.g., operations engineering, performance, risk management)
- Interface with system designers to design, code, test, and implement integrations
- Perform defect analysis and prioritize defects and deployments.
- Prepare operating procedures documentation and participate in knowledge transfer to Operations.
- Attending project joint application design (JAD) sessions to support estimating solutions for projects and review and provide feedback on requirements.
- Engaging enterprise architecture about design decisions and defining integration architecture standards and guidelines.
- Prioritizing defects during releases and signing off on test plans, functional testing, and performance testing.

The salary range for applicants for this position is 100,000-130,000.
