The Collateral Management Group within Derivatives Middle Office plays an integral part in managing the counterparty risk across MIM for numerous lines of business including OTC derivatives, Exchanged Traded derivatives, Federal Home Loan Bank, MSFTA’s, Securities Lending, and MIM’s 3rd Party Asset Management business. The Senior Analyst will work within a team environment to support MIM’s growing derivative and capital market’s businesses as well as contribute to and lead company initiatives. The position engages directly with trading, valuations, risk management, IT, operations, finance as well as countless external counterparties and vendors across the street. Responsibilities, given below, are well integrated within a strong team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and execute daily margin activity globally for Securities Lending, OTC Derivatives, Exchanged Traded Derivatives, Capital Markets and MSFTAs.
- Manage the daily trade settlement process for FED and DTC securities with our CPs and custodian bank; initiate internal security moves between MetLife portfolios as necessary.
- Investigate and resolve daily cash and security breaks.
- Contribute to analysis, development, testing, and integration of new applications and enhancements.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and quarterly reports for Senior Management.
- Ability to liaise with Trading, Middle Office, Legal, PMU, Audit, and Back Office.
- Look for new ways to automate and increase efficiency within the current workflow.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 0-2 years of investments experience within a financial services firm.
- 0-2 years of investment operations experience supporting fixed income or derivatives.
- 0-1 years of collateral management/settlement experience.
- Strong understanding of investment accounting reporting, data integrity and fixed income analytics.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and collaborative skills.
- Advanced Excel Skills – (Pivots, macros, vlookup, graphs).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to meet daily deliveries in a high stress environment and thrive.
- Professional, self-motivated, and self-aware.
- Flexible and adaptive to change in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- B.S. Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or other related field of expertise
- Knowledge of CALYPSO, Murex, Aladdin/Deco, Tri-Resolve, and Bloomberg a plus.
