Key Responsibilities:
- Each architect manages the entire investment portfolio across seven lines of business (LOBs) by asset class, catering to two distinct client profiles: preserving regulatory reserves for our global insurance business (MII) and generating alpha for large institutional clients serviced by MIM. Architects operate independently but ensure collaboration across the overall strategy.
- The hands-on Principal Architect must be able to synthesize business concepts into technological solutions and communicate them effectively at all organizational levels. Solutions need to be thorough, encompassing all technology stack levels, and aimed at achieving desired business outcomes.
- A key technical leader with expertise in buy-side institutional asset management, across various asset classes such as global public securities, alternative assets, and derivatives, is essential.
- This role involves developing conceptual and solution designs for applications, platforms, data, and processes to effectively use technology within MetLife Investments.
- The ability to translate business concepts into technological solutions and communicate them clearly at all organizational levels is crucial to realizing our New Frontier strategy
Required:
- Demonstrable active listening skills are critical to aligning business and technical strategies. There is a strong emphasis on integration, enterprise data, and modern secure event-driven architectures as core competencies.
- Significant proven experience in supporting the Buy or Sell Side Front, Middle, and Back-office investment lifecycle.
- Significant proven experience in designing event-driven public cloud solutions for buy-side firms
- Proven Ability to extrapolate business requirements into modern technology solutions and communicate them through detailed architecture documentation and collaborative small working groups of technologists.
- 3 years’ experience in designing cloud-based solutions that service Publics, Alternatives, and Derivative solutions.
- Designed and Deployed solutions using Azure
- Experience in communicating architecture using standards such as TOGAF.
- Applied understanding of typical software design patterns
- Delivered Solutions based on data-centric foundations such as Databricks, Data Lakes, Fabrics, ODS’
- Familiarity with Investments technologies such as Trade capture and Order management, Investments Accounting, Loan Origination, Security and Price Mastering systems to name a few.
The salary range for applicants for this position is $150,000 to $190,000.
