Cole Engineering Services (CESI), a By Light company, is recognized as a premier provider of modeling and simulation (M&S) training solutions to the Federal Government and industry. Since 2004, CESI has been at the forefront of developing, maintaining, and integrating simulation-based training, serious gaming, technical services, training and other support in live, virtual, constructive, and gaming (LVCG) domains. Required Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, computer science, information technology, systems or software engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 2 years applicable software engineering experience.
- Work with cross-functional teams in an agile based full-cycle development that includes requirements analysis, design, & implementation.
- Elevate software engineering standards and assist the engineering team in software system or subsystem development and documentation efforts.
- Engage in software delivery best practices by implementing/expanding unit tests, integration tests and discussing edge-case trade-offs between productivity and stability
- Understands and adheres to project schedules and stays within established budgets.
- Break down complex issues, on both the front-end and back-end, into smaller, manageable solutions.
- Clearly and effectively communicate problems and solutions with the team, both verbally and electronically
- Strong object-oriented programming expertise
- Expertise with JavaScript, Java Spring Boot, React, Angular or other related libraries desired.
- Experience in Linux shell scripting
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
- Experience with containerization of applications (e.g. Docker)
- Experience with DevOps or CI/CD processes
- Experience with back-end development, including node.js, web servers (Nginx, Apache, etc.), database servers, etc.
- Agile development principles
- Agile team planning tools, such as Atlassian Jira or Azure DevOps
- Database design
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
In accordance with the specifications of a government contract, eligibility for this position mandates U.S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. The precise security clearance requisites will be detailed in the Government's Task Order.
