Capability Unit
Metrea Aircraft Integration Center (MAIC) is a Part 145 MRO focused on aircraft modification and system integration in support of Metrea’s Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and other operations, conducted by our Special Air Missions (SAM) Group, and in support of our Air Mobility Group (AIRMOB).
Position Summary
The Aircraft Modification & Maintenance Manager ensures the safe, compliant and effective running of the MAIC.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversees all repair station operations to ensure they are conducted in accordance with the applicable regulations and the MRO's procedures.
- Ensures the highest level of quality and efficiency in our aircraft modification and maintenance operations.
- Responsible for directing and managing all aircraft modification and maintenance activities, including scheduling, labor utilization, and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and Metrea quality standards.
- Leading a team of skilled technicians, you will prioritize repair and modification work, provide accurate status, and maintain positive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Ensures that all maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations are performed in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Manage integration projects working closely with the Airborne Asset Alterations (A3) Cell and Metrea Aerospace Design (MASD) engineers to achieve a quality product to exacting requirements on time and budget.
- Supervises and directing MRO personnel, ensuring they are properly trained and qualified for their roles.
- Implements and maintains the repair station's quality control system to ensure the airworthiness of all articles maintained.
- Serves as the primary point of contact with the applicable regulatory authority.
Skills and Experience
Experience:
- Must hold an FAA mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant (A&P) ratings (EASA Part 66 licensed engineer) and either 3 years of experience within the past 6 years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including, at the time of appointment as Head of Maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the CU uses; or
- 3 years of experience within the past 6 years repairing aircraft in a certificated MRO, including 1 year in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service.
Skills:
- Experience of aircraft modification and integration.
- Must be able to read, interpret engineering drawings and instructions for installation aircraft modification kits and assemblies.
- Must be able to manage a heavy workload and prioritize.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Certifications:
- Must hold an FAA mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant (A&P) ratings (EASA Part 66 licensed engineer).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Current US Passport.
- Must be able to hold & maintain a Top Secret (or higher) clearance level.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
