Capability Unit
Metrea Algorithmics (MAX) provides unique engineering services, cloud-based cyber operations infrastructure, advanced tactics, techniques and procedures training, and a full suite of wireless communications survey and reconnaissance sensors that enable real-time multi-domain awareness while enhancing command and control.
Position Summary
Mid-Senior Level Cloud Developer needed as part of an agile team working with analysts to translate ideas into requirements for new information systems. This developer should possess the necessary skills required to implement end-to-end solutions including (but not limited to) accessing existing datasets, creating new datasets, performing analytic functions, and exposing analytic results to the end user.
Essential Functions Statements
A strong candidate will possess a background in software development and engineering with a focus on working software-intensive projects and programs for the government customer. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and will need demonstrated experience in serialization, developing restful services, and using source code management tools.
Competency Statements
- Must have strong experience with Java, PMR, PIG
- Must have the ability to work directly with analysts to codify tradecraft.
- Must have experience with JSON and/or BSON
Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field is preferred however, four years of additional experience may be substituted. A master’s degree is a plus, but not required.
Experience:
- 8 years of general experience in software development/engineering including requirements of analysis, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, test, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- At least 6 years of software development in high level languages (Java, C, C ) and 3 years developing software in UNIX/Linux (RedHat versions 3-5 ) and software integration and testing (to include developing & implementing test plans and scripts)
- At least 4 years of experience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL) such as H Base, CloudBase/Accumulo, Big Table, etc., as well as Map Reduce programming model, the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates
Experience with developing analytics in the QTA environment.
Familiarity with network encrypting protocols (i.e. IKE/IPsec, TLS, and technologies such as TOR).
Experience with Maven and web services development, Zoom workflows.

Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.
Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employee must be a US citizen.
Employee must have and maintain a Top Secret SCI with Full-Scope Poly Clearance Level.
