Capability Unit
Metrea Air Mobility (AIRMOB) operates a fleet of KC-135 aircraft, offering an air-to-air refueling service that seamlessly, safely, and professionally integrates into military aviation training and operations.
Position Summary
Support Metrea Air Mobility (AIRMOB) and Tanker Fleet Management Office (FMO-K) Heavy Aircraft Maintenance Division to act as a KC-135 Period Depot Maintenance (PDM) subject matter expert (SME) that has an in-depth technical and maintenance understanding of the KC-135 aircraft and PDM requirements. Work with and alongside 3rd party MRO organizations and Metrea Technical Representative heavy maintenance teams so they have the knowledge base to perform heavy maintenance tasks and requirements. KC-135 PDM Subject Matter Experts adhere to strict regulatory guidelines set by Metrea Maintenance Management plans and aviation authorities, such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Their meticulous work and attention to detail contribute to aircraft's overall safety and reliability, playing a critical role in the aviation industry.
Role and Responsibilities
- Participate On-site with 3rd party MROs and Metrea personnel for Heavy Maintenance events on the Metrea KC-135 and C-135FR fleets.
- Conduct On-Hand training with personnel on how to maintain a KC-135 properly.
- Conduct proper breakdown of operating systems.
- Be the PDM maintenance Subject Matter Expert for the KC-135 Aircraft Fleet.
- Knowledgeable of how to properly conduct troubleshooting for KC-135 Aircraft.
- Knowledge of Special tooling, equipment, and testing equipment required for system repairs.
- Support Logistics in the identification of Vendors and overhaul of parts.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert advice on future aircraft modifications and upgrades.
- Provide historical knowledge on past modifications, configurations, and repair actions.
- Provide on-call technical support to Maintenance personnel.
- All other duties that support KC-135 Fleet maintenance integration.
Skills and Experience
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two-year degree in Aviation Management preferred.
Experience:
- 15 years working with the KC-135 aircraft depot, line maintenance, and modifications.
Skills:
- Proven and demonstrable attention to detail skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, determining causes of errors and deciding on the course of action to solve.
- Comprehensive understanding of company philosophy and processes.
- Takes initiative and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to read and understand the information presented in writing, diagrams, and schematics.
- Accomplishes all duties with little or no assistance.
- Good command of the English language, both oral and written.
Certificates:
- An FAA A&P Certificate is required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Current US Passport with unrestricted travel access.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change by department and business needs. Exempt employees must have the ability to be on-call and available as required by business needs. Non-exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

25-50% in the United States, with occasional travel internationally.
