Solution Architect

With deep mission expertise, Metrea focuses on delivering effects-as-a-service across Aerospace, Electromagnetic & Cyber, Digital & Synthetic domains via its capability groups. Metrea also consists of six support groups (Operations, People, Finance, Legal, Strategy and Solutions) that guide the development of specific capabilities that Metrea's files (product, projects, programs etc.) leverage to achieve their targets.  

Position Summary 

This role leverages your breadth of experience in the Air domain to design and develop elegant solutions to the hardest problems in aerospace (civil and military, manned and unmanned). As a Solution Architect you have a deep understanding of Air domain effects, sensors and capabilities, the missions they are employed within and the markets and customers that require them. You will also be expected to work closely with your fellow architects in other domains e.g. Cyber, Software and Scaled Systems (e.g. drones) to create truly unique effects as a service. 

As a Solution Architect you will work closely with our lab teams to help transition concepts into products or capabilities that can be employed by our manned and unmanned assets. You will work routinely with our regional commercial leads and bid management teammates to ensure that our solutions are properly bid into relevant prospects. Equally, you will work with program managers to ensure our portfolio of programs are constantly evolving to cement our incumbency and stay at the leading edge of what is possible.    

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• A broad and deep understanding of Air domain sensors and abilities, and experience with bringing them to bear on manned and unmanned platforms. 
• Broad experience of Air domain missions. Emphasis is on Manned Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (MAISR) but any depth in Air to Air refueling, Aerial Fire Fighting and Strategic Transport and Mobility will be utilized.  
• Some knowledge of concept development (concept to capabilities) is essential. Previous developmental testing and/or operational test and evaluation is highly desirable. 
• Solution development experience with an understanding of the aerospace and defense market in the Americas is essential. So too is knowledge and relationships within Metrea’s US Govt and DoD (specialist) users groups and communities. 
• Experienced in supporting complex Air domain bids and be proficient in generating bid quality technical content to support solution design and development. 
• Sufficiently competent to support the development of software tools that enhance Air domain effects and abilities. 

Competency Statements

• 20 years combined experience in Aerospace and Defense. A mix of military and civil experience is essential. 
• Must have operational experience in a relevant mission, ideally an ISR or Law Enforcement (LE) role with a Tier 1 military or government customer. 
• The ability to create high quality, technically sound written work to a deadline in support of bids and proposals is essential. 
• Some Test or trials experience is highly desirable as is any certification or regulatory experience relevant to our growing services in the US.
• Knowledge or experience in Cyber, SIGINT and EW is highly desirable. Software and synthetic experience is desirable. 

Supervisory Responsibility
In time this role may require the direct supervision of other more junior architects with a commensurate mentoring responsibility.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
 This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week. 

Facility Location:  

Metrea Management (US) – Hybrid with frequent office attendance at our US facilities, primarily Tampa (FL) and Washington (DC).    

 Travel
 Regular travel required to support our prospects and programs in the US. Infrequent travel elsewhere, primarily Europe) for workshops and Enterprise activities is also expected. 

 Required Education, Experience and Certificates
 Education: A relevant aerospace degree or equivalent industry experience. 
 Experience: Previous operational experience in a relevant mission.

• Valid Driver’s License 
• Valid Passport

 Experience: Experience in Solution design, Solution Development as well as D/OT&E.

 Additional Eligibility Qualifications
 Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.
 Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
